I am thrilled to share the exciting news that today, my PhD student successfully defended his thesis, titled “Kurdish Natural Language Processing for Ontology Extraction,” at Akre University for Applied Science under the co-supervision of Dr. Ismail Ali.
This achievement marks the first milestone for the Semantic Web Lab (SWLab) and includes groundbreaking contributions:
- The creation of the first annotated corpus for the Central Kurdish language.
- The introduction of a hybrid method for developing a part-of-speech tagger specifically tailored to Central Kurdish.
I extend my deepest gratitude to the distinguished jury members for their invaluable feedback and insightful comments, which have greatly enhanced the quality of the dissertation.
Congratulations to the student and their family on this remarkable accomplishment. Your dedication, innovation, and hard work have paved the way for new possibilities in Kurdish natural language processing. Best wishes for all your future endeavors!
