SWUoZ
Semantic Web Lab at the University of Zakho
The unique potential which Linked Data and the Semantic Web offers intelligent web applications has motivated the research community to produce some efforts toward this regard.
Natural language processing (NLP) is a branch of artificial intelligence that helps computers understand, interpret, and manipulate human language. NLP draws from many disciplines, including computer science and computational linguistics, in its pursuit to fill the gap between human communication and computer understanding. There are some notable efforts done towards creating the Kurdish NLP (KNLP) pipeline, however, it does not fulfill the complete NLP tasks needed for enabling semantic web and text mining applications.
This lab is handling this gap in the emergent technologies and applies its result of KNLP into the main application of AI, which is the main task in ontology engineering that is called ontology learning.
